Welcome to the Tillman PTO homepage. We hope that this site serves as a resource for our staff and school community.

The Tillman PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) is an organization whose purpose is to strengthen, enhance and encourage the educational and social environment of Tillman Elementary. Its goals are to complement the school curriculum with additional opportunities for parents, teachers and students to learn, socialize, communicate, and grow.

Tillman's PTO plays a vital role in bringing our community together, supporting our school, and creating meaningful experiences for kids. We understand that PTO involvement can sometimes feel, at least in some schools, like it's just for those "in the know.” If you've ever felt like you had to know someone to get involved, please know that is not the case at Tillman. We want every family to feel they belong, whether it’s attending meetings, volunteering at an event, or simply sharing ideas. Our PTO Board is committed to making sure that participation is easy, comfortable, and open to everyone - moms, dads, and other caregivers - whether you’re new to our school or have been here for years. At Tillman, everyone is welcome, valued, and encouraged to take part in whatever way works for them.

All Tillman parents are a part of the PTO and we invite everyone to participate. The time commitment depends on the role, but there is certainly a good fit for you! Please contact us at tillmanpto@kirkwoodschools.org if you have questions or would like to get more involved.

Anyone wishing to volunteer in our schools must complete a background check through the KSD Human Resources Department.
