Tillman Unite

Our mission
Tillman Unite is a group of parents, families, and staff at Tillman interested in learning more about educational equity, social justice, and empathy/emotional literacy skill building in order to help create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all families.

What we do

• Provide opportunities for learning around topics of educational equity, social justice, empathy and emotional literacy skill building, etc.

• Support staff in efforts to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students

• Represent Tillman families at KSD School Board meetings and other district wide initiatives regarding these topics
  
  

Key activities

• Meet to discuss diversity, equity, and inclusion topics and initiatives at Tillman

• Host book clubs and other media discussions or events for parents that develop new insights and deeper perspectives on topics related to Unite’s mission

• Organize learning opportunities and community outings for students and families

• Support teachers with a grant program to fund initiatives and programs that relate to Unite’s mission

• Provide perspective and guidance to support PTO committees, activities, and programs to help ensure that we are inclusive of the entire Tillman community
