Student Use of Cell Phones & Smartwatches

For the 2025-26 school year, all Kirkwood schools will be cell phone-free during the school day. This includes all personal devices, including other cell-based devices, such as smartwatches, AirPods, wireless headphones, etc. Students will be able to bring devices to school, but will need to keep them off and away during the school day, including during meals, recess, and passing periods. Students with specific medical or other documented needs may have accommodations made. More information on why this change is being made can be found here.
