We Stories Kits @ Tillman
We Stories Kits
We Stories is a local non-profit organization that uses diverse children’s books as a tool to help families start and strengthen conversations around race and racism and explore their role in the larger racial equity movement. In addition to engaging families, they provide We Stories Kit libraries in school systems that have prioritized and invested in improving the equity of their system. The We Stories kits are designed to help families in those systems develop the comfort, confidence and conversations necessary to participate in support of larger efforts, and to generate larger school community conversations.
The We Stories kits, which come in a variety of themes, are appropriate for children ages 5 and up and prompt families explore important questions related community, identity, history, empathy, understanding and equity. Each kit is themed and comes with 4-6 books, research, a set of resources, as well as specific discussion prompts.
